sometimes, in the need to finish all of my duties for the day, i forget myself. i simply have too many things on my mind. and that's dangerous in my line of work....
  • there was a time i forgot to lock the door of the washroom. surprise!!! i found 3 of my kids giggling at the door, staring at me, as if they couldn't believe that i knew how to pee.
  • we went swimming 2 fridays ago, and my co-teacher had her period, so guess who got stuck swimming with the kids! to make matters worse, i was wearing a tankini. suddenly, i felt hands going under my top. aaaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhh! somebody was also going for my butt!!!
  • it's a little annoying to be allergic to chalk dust. i sneeze constantly and i always have a box of tissues beside me. sometimes, when the kids come to school with a runny nose or a cold, they say, "kasi hinahawaan mo kami e!"
  • i handle 2 classes every day, one in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. most of the time, i get annoyed when the kids ignore me when i call their attention. i stand up in the middle of the classroom, hands on my hips and say, "kinder 1-A, teacher told you to pack away already. do you wnat me to get all your toys!?" the kids stop whatever they are doing, look at me and say, "e hindi naman kami kinder 1-A e, kinder 1-C kami!"

next week, we will be starting our practices with the kids for their culminating activity. they already know their songs, the actions and their groups. we just need to practice the girls with speaking parts.

it's so frustrating to have to choose just a handful of speakers when all of them can do it! although, just how good they'll be is another thing altogether. they may be good at memorizing thier lines, but they speak so emotionlessly, you'd think they were delivering a eulogy. and you wouldn't belive their mothers! they're worse than the kids! they give the name, "stage mommies" a new meaning!

they write us regularly to ask how their daughters are doing, and if they need more practice. they want a copy of our script, and they want to assist during practices. ASSIST! more like take over! the horror! good grief! what do they think this is, a broadway musical?! lord help us on the day itself...

from the mouth of babes...

we really have to watch our language with children. it does not matter if you did not say anything wrong, or bad, but you must ennunciate properly.

"In name had father, had sun, had only spit, Amen."
- Gad Zukes! Holy Spit!

"Our Father in heaven, holy be Your name, Your kim dom dome, Your will be dan, on herth as is in heaven. give us today hour dane bread, and forgive us hour sins as we forgive toes who sin rains us. do not bring us tula test but deliver us home evil, Amen."
- Toes it is!

"Hail Mary full of kiss, the Lord is with you. Bless are you among men and bless is the foot of your worm Jesus. Holy mary mother of God, play us sinners, now and at the har of our bed, Amen."
- Holy worm!

"God made the earth, God made the sigh. fish that can swim, birds that can fly. God made the day, to run and to play, and then when He was two, God made the light for scratching, and He's scratching over you." - God made the night for sleeping, and He's watching over you
